THEY FINALLY GOT ME A NEW CAMERA AT WORK!!!

They asked me which one I wanted, then I printed them out a picture of it and I figured it would be like two weeks or something before I got it but it was on my desk when I got back from my lunch break!!

Last night I was laying on the couch watching a movie, and my dad came home around nine and asked if I knew whose car was in the driveway, I told him that I didn't and he went outside and there were maybe three people in our parking space, and he asked them if the car belonged to any of them and one of them pulled him aside and explained to him that the little 12 year old boy that lives in the apartment directly across from us had just hung himself and then the police showed up about two minutes later.

It's weird to be experience other people dying who are in close proximity to one, but whose deaths are actually inconsequential to a stranger's every day life. It's weird to think that as I was watching television, a little boy died about 10 yards away from me. When I think about it, it's like I imagine our houses as cross-sections with invisible walls, in which I am eating dinner and waiting for a friend while he is struggling to breathe with a belt around his neck.

I guess around where I live now, kids his age are tying belts around their necks and leaning forward to see how close they can get to passing out without actually doing it. What the fuck is wrong with little kids? It never occurred to me to do something like that.

Ugh. People are disgusting. I can't even imagine the things little kids will be doing when I'm 50.

New Sculpture

I had been thinking about doing one but I just didn't have the motivation, I did this yesterday and I accidentally burned the ends of the tail feathers in the oven, but I'm going to paint it so whatever.

I can't find the disc I put the pictures on. I''ll just describe it to you!
Carpet in the living room and drawing room (aka really really big closet with windows which I intend to put my arthings in), hardwood floors everywhere else (aside from kitchen and bathroom). The kitchen is HUGE!!! and so are all the rooms, really. It's got 2 stained glass windows and a fucking coat ROOM (little room between the front door and the rest of the house to put your outdoors things in) and some sliding wood doors and a fireplace and stuff.

So yeah basically it rules. $325 a month.

YEAH YOU HEARD IT.

Also, I started a sculpture of The Osbick Bird last night, complete with galoshes and scarf.

But the page where he's standing on the dude's head wearing his boots and things.

Oh and I got a fucking untouched original pressing of Bitches Brew, and some other records you don't care about (The Fugs' Tenderness Junction, King Crimson's In the Court of the Crimson King, also both in pristine condition and the Fugs record is worth about $50 but I got it for twentysix).

So, for some reason I had never seen Buffalo '66 until last night, no one ever wanted to watch it with me!

SO UHHH it probably has the best scene ever in it, (1)Christina Ricci (2)tap dancing to (3) KING CRIMSON!!!!!!!!!!!

Not to mention that the rest of the soundtrack was fucking awesome and that movie made me feel all warm and fuzzy for some reason.

All time albums that made me go WTF IS THIS AND CAN I HAVE MORE?

1. Captain Beyond - Captain Beyond

If we were friends around the time I first heard this album, you've probably heard it a few times yourself. Around the time I started listening to it, I only heard it because a friend had the record in his possession and listened to it fairly often. The first side of the album made me kinda excited but I didn't think it was anything too special, THEN THE FUCKING SECOND SIDE blew me away. I love this album, I listened to it almost non-stop at first, and I probably listen to it in full at least twice a month, and songs from it or the B side probably a couple times a week. When I found out that it was the drummer from Johnny Winter's band, The singer from Deep Purple and the bass player from Iron Butterfly it started making total sense. Psychedelic Southern Rock? More, please.

Standout Traxx : Dancing Madly Backwards, the entire second side.

2. Black Tambourine - Complete Recordings

I heard this album sometime in high school and I seriously still listen to it ALL THE TIME. I LOVE THIS ALBUM. Any fans of Jesus & Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine, Orange Juice, or Velocity Girls should love the shit out of this album. It's the only one they put out, and that's probably a good thing. I'm a pretty big fan of any band who put out a pop album in the early nineties, and really meant it. Music? FUN? ARE YOU CRAZY?! I love it for what it is and I can imagine myself listening to this one for many many years to come.

Standout Traxx : Throw Aggi Off the Bridge, For Ex-Lovers Only, Black Car

3. Drive Like Jehu - Drive Like Jehu

This album REALLY changed the type of music I listened to. I was like 16, listening to Saves the Day and Lifetime and THEN I HEARD THIS. The first song, Caress is so fucking killer, and remains my favorite Jehu song to this date. It opened doors to Rick Froberg's other bands Hot Snakes and Pitchfork. I got to see Hot Snakes in Detroit in 2004? 2003? uhhhh whenever that was with fucking Mario from Clickitat Ikatowi and it was GREAT. Loud, raunchy, SKULL CRUNCHING guitars fighting against themselves...oh my. There will never be another band like Drive Like Jehu, and if there was I probably wouldn't like them as much anyway. Most people disagree with me and say that Yank Crime is their better album but whatever.

Standout Traxx : Caress, If It Kills You, and O Pencil Sharp (FUCKING 12 MINUTES OF MATH)

4. Television : Marquee Moon

I really don't even know how to describe the way this album makes me feel. I just. REALLY. LOVE IT. A LOT. It's rockin' during a time when New York was just some fucking disco self-love bullshit and I have no idea what was going on in the midwest at this point in time, probably nothing. But whatever, this is REAL MUSIC for me. It's emotionally provocative while not being sad bastard music. It's mysterious but also right in your face. There's nothing I don't like about this album.

5. My Bloody Valentine : Loveless

WHO DOESN'T LOVE THIS ALBUM? SERIOUSLY. The End.

Actually, it's from the second pressing. You can tell because it's 60 cents on the cover instead of 35. But it's still from 1967 and it's still an original R. Crumb publication so I'm still stoked about it. The 45 is a Yardbirds WHITE LABEL!!! (radio copy) single for 'I'm A Man'. UH HUH, and Atomic Rooster's 'Nice N Greasy'. YAYAYA I also got a Jefferson Airplane record, and a Sugarloaf UK import in addition to the sweet Django Reinhardt record they saved for me last week.

Lost Weekend is pretty much the best thing ever, and dude who works there rules.

PS: MY DAD GAVE ME HIS COAT THAT HE STOLE FROM THE AIR FORCE.
